Doom 3 is quite a scary game. So, if you turn of all the lights, have surround speakers (and a high volume), be prepared to have a very scary experience.. Technically, the lighting and shadow effects are spectacular (especially in the Tomiko Reactor DM level) .. It's a game that you have to play in parts so you don't get overwhelmed ...
Half-Life 2 is a game beyond brilliance. It isn't quite as scary, but it features immensely wonderful gameplay. It's physics system is one more reason as to why the game plays so incredibly well, and believeably. The AI is top notch; In spite of all the realistic graphics, this game can run on a very low end system. It is the most enjoyable FPS I have ever played till date.
